I have a 2002 mustang gt with a 2valve v8 What would cause a dead spot in my rpms mostly lower to mid range also noticed a power lose since this has been happening

Im not really sure if I'm correct with this for a mustang but my other car was doing this. It just had no power till you got to like 2700 rpm. The timing was actually off by one notch. But that's a vehicle with no computer or anything assists like traction control and such
