Transmission issue

I was told by the previous owner of my car that it's somewhat of a generic trait for 94-04 mustang transmissions to have issues with the synchro. I'm new to the mustang world so I wasn't sure if it was just smoke he was blowing or what but I only have an issue with 2nd gear. Every so often it will kick out of gear right after shifting in. It doesn't make any nasty noises just pops out. I'd really like so info cause if I can get it fixed i need to

sounds like a syncro problem. does the car have a short throw shifter? the adjustment bolt might need adjustment

see the two bolts by the shift arm? those are the adjustment bolts. just dont over adjust them because you can break a shift fork

Thanks. I'll mess around with it when I get off work. I'm hoping that's the only problem cause I don't wanna have to fix the synchro. If that's the issue I might as well just throw in a new tranny

I had this kid at advanced auto trying to convert me to hondas and that his turbo civic would destroy my gt. I told him let me own my car for more then a month and put just my kenne bell on and we will race

Why did you do a engine swap to the 01 engine? Isn't it basically the same or it a cast iron not aluminum

Well that's a good reason to switch. Those 96-98 cobras really arent anything special until you start swapping heads and cams. There is this guy here in town that's got a 98 cobra and he rods the he'll out of it and my gt destroyed it. Mine just has a complete exhaust and a cai and some drag radials and 3.90 gears

Sounds like a nice ride. You doing anything else to it? Have you heard of the recall for older cobras with the throttle catching on the carpet?

You should got turbo. You'd have 600rwhp at the crank easy with a safe tune...

Yea I agree. I understand turbos have more potential but I want the instant power and the whistle. I'll have 600rwhp after I'm all said and done. I'm planning on boring with new forged internals with aggressive cams and heads after that I can actually run a decent boost out of the kenne bell

Yup1 lol jk. i just prefere supercharger. and his can be 700 hp all it wants. when does it hit that hp and how long does it stay in its power band. supercharges have a better powerband. might be fewer horses but i like the supercharger more
