trade in 98 cobra for gto

Ok guys so I'm getting frustrated with how much it cost to make this thing fast. Mod motor parts cost an ARM and a leg. I recently worked on my friends 06 gto and fell on love. It's roomie, refined and powerful. Easy to work on to boot. Wondering if my fellow forum members can give me a lil hope and steer me on the right direction. Obviously there's a huge price diff. My cobra was only 5k. Gtos go for around 18. But the gto has a crap load more rear seat room for my kiddos.... sorry for the long post. Steer me in the right direction please!

The exterior is questionable, but interior and refinement were very well executed. I'm gonna see what I can get for my snake. Any way of bolting on enough to keep up with the 6.0?

Looks like a slipper and is a heavy SOB. If its more practical for the kids then that's a selling point but you trade in your car and get a $18k car note why not slap on a $6k blower and be faster?

All-aluminum, 400-horse, 6.0L V8. What's not to love? The 4L60E is a damn fine transmission, so you can't go wrong, if you choose manual or automatic. They are a little plain, in the styling department, that's a legit criticism.

Have you looked at the G8s? Similiar car, shy a few horses, but I think they look spectacular.

Exactly what boneking said. Goats can do hci and keep up with termis. Cams alone for a dohc 32v are 2gs. Thanks for all the input guys. Agreed on the g8 being a fine whip indeed, just a bit out of my price range of fast under 20k.

are you really considering a 4 banger? and not just any 4 banger, a mopar 4 banger. i think you need your head examined!?!? sure they are fast but they are crap. cheaply built and costly to make even faster. my friend has one and he just lifted the head off the block with 25psi boost. and at that point i was still making more power than he was. and i am naturally aspirated. dont stoop that low lol
