convertable top 2002 mustang gt

Hi everyone some friendly words of advice if ANYONE is planning to put in a convertable top into a mustang ---dont!!!---- it's not fun I did it. It took me and my 15 yr old son 3 and half days!!!!! I got the top for $400 not bad as opossed to spending $1200 but I totally understand why it's 1200 and WILL GLADLY PAY THAT NEXT TIME!!!!!! I have a new found if respect for the individuals who put convertable tops on. My hat off to all of you!!! Here ate my results..

It's fine man. But why not a nice V6? Same looks and not as much for insurance and not as fast?

Cool! Happy I could suggest it. Also, if you spend the money, I've heard a nice set of longtube headers and an H-pipe give it a great deep tone. Not exactly v8 deepness, but a nice deep rumble

Cool didn't think of that. Thank-you!! I really love the sound if the v8 mustangs. I don't think there is a car out there that sounds like that stock from factory. Not camoro or charger. When a v8 stang comes down the road you know it.

I know! I don't have the money for exhaust though... But look at some videos on YouTube or make a thread asking for nice v6 exhaust setups if you ever end up getting one, some people on hear have owned some amazing sounding sixers

Cool.!!! I will. That will save Money on insurance like you said. Thank you!!!!! What year is your stang? Nice cars though I'm hooked on them. The ONLY thing I don't like about mine is its automatic. I strongly believe it would have been easier to converted the car to manual than to put that top on. I'm not kidding.

Thanks. But yeah, V6s are quick enough for now... Although I'm looking at a new intake manifold and a nitrous kit to help it out

Nice. But still looks great!!! Love the color! Mine is an 02 and I would love something newer just don't want the payments. I traided an 02 seabring for this. The seabring needed Cv joints and tie rods. It was going to cost me 1100 to do it myself!!! I said no let's get rid of it. So I got rid of it for the stang.

Looks like you definitely traded up! And yeah, 05-09 v6s are priced lower than when I got my 04. Should be able to get a very nice one under 10k
