2003 Ecplise GT

Just bought an Ecplise as DD. Has an intake, full exhaust, and suspension work. Has 60,000 miles on it and I bought it
for 7500 bucks. Very good shape and I'm
very impressed with it overall. Pics to come ASAP

I had a '93 and blew a headgasket and it finally died after trying to keep it alive. It was such a piece.

Re: 2003 Ecplise GT

I had a buddy that had one in high school. My stock automatic V6 was not only faster...but I was able to pass him with enough room to pull over easily while both cars were WOT.

You bought a car with doing no research?

Hope it works out well for you.

Re: 2003 Ecplise GT

hmm..yah for the money I would've probably picked up a used GT (stock or lightly modded) and still pulled 20's on the highway. Not exactly winter friendly but a low powered fwd car isn't much better.

Good luck with it...can you turn it around and at least break even?

Re: 2003 Ecplise GT

If there were something I could do right now that would turn $7500 into $15000 in a month...I'd be all over it.

If that were true, you could get a nice, $10K car, and still have $5K in pocket.

Re: 2003 Ecplise GT

I had a 92 Talon (just a Eclipse rebadged by Eagle) and didn't have any problems until I traded it in with 95K miles on it.

Re: 2003 Ecplise GT

Only problem I ever had with a Mitsu was early rust at seams on an 01 Galant. Not covered by warranty BTW. We had an '07 Eclipse that was a LOT of fun, with ZERO problems when we sold it. Only got rid of it because we weren't driving it and the payment and insurance was being wasted. Enjoy your car. More than likely the problems listed have been taken car of.
