Mach 1 stripe

Ok so I recently purchased a 2003 true blue Mustang GT. It won't let me upload any pics since I am using my phone and not a computer. It is dark blue, and I want to put a Mach 1 stripe from the front of the scoop to the front of the hood. But I can't decide whether I want to put flat black for the blacked out look or white, and also the same on the bumper inserts. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Re: Mach 1 stripe

I think white works well with blue, but the flat black probably would look good too, but I favor the white...

Sweet, I like that! Is that your car? And that's what I was thinking about doing to mine, the blacked out look. Cause I'm putting smoked halos and twilight covers on it and so forth.

Re: Mach 1 stripe

i recommend removing the scoop to install it then putting the scoop back down over its edge.

Re: Mach 1 stripe

ah, sounds good, then you should be removing the scoop regardless to paint the hood and the scoop

I think a black and blue color scheme would look great, so maybe later some black rims.

Yea that would, it has aluminum bullitt wheels right now. I love the black on chrome bullitt's. I also think it would go great with the black chin spoiler under the bumper and the black grill delete. I'm also gonna be putting black halos in it

Nice... Sounds like a plan. Post pics? All those mods would make that look sick.

Re: Mach 1 stripe

Keep in mind that hood stripe on Graphics Express is slightly different than the original Mach 1 hood stripe. It is wider since it's made for the GT hood scoop, not the Mach 1 shaker...and the end of it is more square rather than rounded.

I think it still looks good, just keep in mind it's not identical. I'd say go for the black one...it'd look good on true blue. Or silver...I've seen a few true blues with silver accents and anthracite bullits or chrome wheels and they looked good.

The only problem is there is white mustang inserts in the bumper and I can't get them out. The black ones I ordered on American muscle were cheap vinyl and bubbled up real bad, and plus they were smaller than the white ones, so it wouldn't completely cover them up. I don't think they were the same exact size as the infection in the bumper....so i might have to go with a white stripe.

Well they should come out...try and peel a corner up and then spray warm soapy water under and slowly peel each letter up and out. I've installed a set before and I've helped do a couple sets too...all were the black vinyl from AM. None of them have peeled or bubbled up...but they were adhering directly to the bumper and it was cleaned liberally before they were applied.

I'd try removing the old inserts first before buying the hood stripe. If you can get the inserts out then you can start fresh and get the color combo you want.

Yea I'll try that. But I was gonna get the stripe painted on when I got the hood repainted.
