What should I buy?

I have decided to start saving up money so I can buy a different mustang. I love this v6 especially since it's my first car but I want another mustang. I just don't know what I should get. I want one between 99-04 or possibly an older 5.0. I was wondering if I should get a gt, or a bullit? I can get either one for around the same price. Just looking for some input. Btw I will be selling the v6 to my mom so it will still be close to me.

How about a Cobra or Mach 1?

Re: What should I buy?

Ya the Mach 1 or Cobra would the ideal ride, but they do tend to hold some value and might be out of your price range.

How much are you able to spend?

What you are able to spend will help determine what car would be the best for you...

You might have enough for either a low mileage GT or a high miles 01 Bullitt...in that case I'd suggest getting the low mileage GT...it really isn't that much behind the Bullitt power/suspension wise and you'd get a more reliable car that's can certainly be modded.

Re: What should I buy?

I was in the same boat, my 01 was great but I wanted something else so I saved for a few years in college and got my current one.

I would think about what I want out of it. I knew 300hp simply wasn't enough... so for me the only real answer was the 03/04 cobra with 425hp stock and EASY to make 600hp and cheap as well... plus they look great.

The other option you have would be a GT500 it all depends on your budget... and if you want the 05+ body style or not

Re: What should I buy?

$8k could get you a good new edge GT.

Re: What should I buy?

Yah I'd shoot for a mid mileage GT for 8k. Possibly a Mach 1 or clean 01 Cobra if you wish to finance.

The bullitts are nice but I'm not sure you'll find a decent one for 8k. Most owners consider them pretty rare (and they are compared to the S197 run lol).

All the cobras I find for sale are asking $10k+. I have found a couple of bullits for around $8-9k I even found two stage 2 roushs for a lil under $8k. I think I might end up getting a nice gt tho.

Re: What should I buy?

Hmm, well I guess people down there don't believe bullitts are gold, because up here they want a fortune.

Ya a n/a cobra would be nice as they have the 4v and IRS, 320 at the crank vs GT's 260, but a high mileage one that's worked over would be more hassle than it's worth.

A low mileage GT is a decent car...it's quick enough and some nice exhaust and a few bolt ons make it a real fun ride.
