Powder coat wheels/ buy new rims

I'm ordering my first Ford, the Mustang GT '12. Super excited about getting my own 5.0. For paint I was leaning towards white because I've owned two previous black vehicles and am ready for a change. I'm also ordering the Brembo brake package that comes with some nice wheels. Now here's my question if I want black wheels should I have these rims powder coated black or just some black rims? Thanks for any feed back.

For me I like to keep the stock look so I would just powder coat them, but if you don't mind that then just buy new wheels you can definitely find better looking ones.

sell the ones that come on it and buy others if you want to change them, many like those wheels and you can sell them easily with new tires etc.

I'd go with what Spector said, I have a set of stock GT wheels for beater wheels...you'll get good money with fresh tires.

You can plasti-dip those brembo wheels just to see what they look like in black and if you don't like it you can peel it right off. I've seen the brembo wheels with plasti-dip on them and they look great.

Plasti dip? Never heard of it... Does it last? I'm open to it if it looks good. What's that cost compared to powder coat?

Re: Powder coat wheels/ buy new rims

You can buy Plasti-dip at home depot for $5.98 a can. Tape off the area to be applied to or use the deck of cards method, spray and it comes out flat black. Its a rubbery type of coating so if you dont like it you can peel it right off with no harm to factory or chrome wheels.....wont even stick to your paint. Ive seen people plasti-dip chrome saleens before and it looks nice!

Alot of people use this to black out fender and trunk badges.

Shop for Plasti Dip 11 Oz. Flat Black Vinyl Coating Spray - 112036 at The Home Depot
