I wouldn't mind having a camaro next to the stang, but I wouldn't trade mine in for one.

Re: mustang vs. camaro

there is currently no camaro produced that I would be willing to give my car up for... perhaps a new Z06... but not just a camaro.

Re: mustang vs. camaro

There was a short period of time after I bought my six when I was considering either an SS camaro ('00) or a Ws6 (99-02), but between the price and the SS looking like *** I decided to keep the stang. I initially wanted a Ws6 before I even considered Mustangs but they stopped making them 2 years before I started shopping...people thought they were pure gold ****in bullion.

NEVER! Don't get me wrong, Camaros and Trans Ams are sick. I have respect for all the American Muscle cars everywhere (my father owns a 1987 Trans Am GTA), but there's nothing out there like a Mustang

Been a mustang guy for 20 years don't think I could get the pony out of my blood and switch to a car that is a competitive copy of an original.

Re: mustang vs. camaro

Till the new 5.0 out I would have take a new SS over any GT. Now GT500 is a different story. The 2010 prior compared to a SS just didn't stand a chance till you threw a lot of crap on the GT. The fastest stock 2010 SS has went 12.5. That is what some 2010 prior are running with superchargers.

Hell the 10 prior stock to stock could not beat my G8 sedan when it was stock. I added bolt ons and I still crushed a bunch bolt on and SC 2010 and priors.

BUT! When the 5.0 came out. I stopped before trading my 500whp at the time G8 in on a SS and drove a 5.0. I was sold. It was faster, lighter. That was all I was worried about.

My stepmother just bought a brand new ss convertible and its missing a few parts required for the top and cover. They are less than pleased because it's not even a day old. I told them they should have bought a mustang and they would have a real car.

How can u say a camaro is a death trap & not the WS-6 trans am. They are same car just different exterior looks. The chassis & drive train are exactly the same. If I'm not mistaken they were made on the same assembly line.

We need to get past the animosity & come together. American muscle is going by the way side in favor of import grocery getters. Sure they're easy on gas & cheap to get parts for, but whats the point. Most of these young kids that drive these things have no idea what torque is. They think you have to have turbos, stage 4 fart can & 15 seconds is quick. We need to get past our differences & show these rice burners what real muscle is all about. It doesn't matter if you have an oval or a bow tie, it's all about the american way. If you're gonna do it, do it to the max.

For all we know in 10 years all cars could be electric. The V8 muscle car is liable to go the way of the dinosaur. Gas will only last so long. Back to the topic, the camaro had 1 good thing going 4 it. The suspension. The 3 link rear setup is much better than the 4 link, IMO any how. Plus the front suspension on the camaro came from factory with adjustable caster/camber.
