cats and cars

well guys i'm on the hunt for a new Mustang. my two current stangs stay at my house under cover. but i have recently moved to my boyfriends house. i had two cats that were indoor cats that i absolutely love to death. my boyfriend refuses to have them inside so they have become outdoor cats (and they LOVE it).. the constant paw prints and scratches don't bother me on my 96 Explorer, but i def. couldn't see parking a new 5.0 or terminator there to be scratched. he doesn't have a closed in garage, only a car port that is open and the cats just LOVE walking on vehicles.

anyone have any solutions to keeping cats off of vehicles? or a cheap solution to closing in the car port?

The only choice is to get rid of the cats. I have the same problem with mine I only have one in the garage the other is covered everynight but no matter if it's outside uncovered 10 minutes or 10 hours the cats get to it. And theycan rip up the cover. The truth is it's tough to keep them off of it. So closing it in may be the best option.

Getting rid of the cats isn't an option. They're my babies. Will have to figure out a way to close it off that the boyfriend will approve without going broke from it. Lpl

Getting a closed garage built. The boyfriend said he loves the terminator idea. Can't wait til the other two are sold so I can begin my search. Would love torch red but don't see many of them. Would also go for black or sonic blue

Well we do have a Pitt bull. But she has jumped against the side of vehicles before too. Lol she would likely chase the cat on the car if she could. Lol

Check out Jefferspet.com they have these mats that they don't like. It's harmless. They also have noise makers and such. They won't hurt it unless they decide to use the nails. Ouch.

Thx for the site I'll have to check that out. Wonder if it really works?

And they've been on my truck and it's mostly paw prints but I have gained a few scratches and I refuse to let that happen to a freakin cobra.

Re: cats and cars

I have this problem with cat's in the area. I have a carport and if I forget to put the cover on I find cat hair on the roof the next morning.
I know this might sound crazy but I put Moth Balls under the carport from time to time. Don't laugh it does keep the cats away for awhile, I also use them to keep the flea's out of the yard. You will have to put the Moth Balls down from time to time and get used to the smell.

I had to use those to get a snake out of my foxbody. I don't mind the smell but my boyfriend can't stand it

Meh.. cats...

My cars don't have 'em and I shoot any that come in the yard. Tried antifreeze but they didn't take to the treat very well.

It seems like it would, but they may decide to lay in a different spot. You can't tell a cat what to do. I think sometimes their claws come out if they see something.

Our cat jumps on every car except mine. She does like to hop inside and sit on the passenger seat like she's going for a ride.
