Floor jack advice

Hey folks,

I was wondering if any of you might have suggestions on where to pick up a decent floor jack. Figured I'm in a room of handy guys/gals. Is there anything I should stay away from?

Re: Floor jack advice

I got mine at Harbor Freight. Was like 119 for a 3 tone floor jack. Low style so fits easy under lowered cars.

Re: Floor jack advice

Got a Craftsmans 3 ton at Sears on sale. Wasn't looking for one but I passed by and did a double take on the sale price so I just picked one up. I would suggest a low profile jack like said above.

I have the same one. Got it a year ago and still don't have problems with it yet, and it gets used a lot.

Ok. Thanks for the advice. I just wanted to avoid buying something that was going to quit after a couple uses. It seems the aluminum racing jacks look nice but are garbage. I found a torin "big red" 3.5 ton jack at the local farm supply store for $99. Hopefully I won't regret buying it.
