Overdrive on or off?

I have a 2010 Mustan Gt Auto & would like to know if I should have overdrive on or off when racing. I don't usually go to the track but I want to know if i would benefit by having it on or off. I have a JLT CAI & Tune in my car

Depends on your tune!.. Turning it off could make you slower!.. I tried it at the track before and after my tune... Before my tune I was faster with it off... But after my tune I was slower with it off!..

That's weird. I have the Bama Tune & I was always curious about the overdrive. Many ppl tell me that it's better to have it off but I never really understood the meaning of it

I have a tune from DiabloSport!.. I think it also depends on what your tune is programmed for things like, shift pressure, shift points, ect... Next time when you go to the track try it both ways and see what works best with your car and setup!.. For me it was about 0.3 seconds difference between keeping it on and turning it off with my tune installed!..

Re: Overdrive on or off?

its just another gear, its like not shifting into 5th gear in a manual. If you push the button so its off its the same thing as that~ no other differences
