I think it is good to be scared straight. I know for me it really benefitted be almost dying. I wasn't injured, but if the car went 25 feet farther I would be dead. I'm no saying people should be Ina crash and be hurt by any means, that should never happen. Just have their lives flash in front of their eyes.

That happened when my v6 slipped on oil and the car missed an 18 wheeler (I wasnt hot rodding at all, just rear slipped and it was raining and front had no grip), and when my gt got totaled into a guard rail (hydroplaned with low tread 275s)

I have no problem with teens driving v6s. If anything, that's better because it introduces them into the mustang world in a less dangerous way. For a 16-18 year old to have a brand new 5.0? That's ridiculous no matter how much they claim they won't race or do anything stupid. Every 16 year old guy wants to drive fast no matter if its a beat up pile or a brand new mustang. The difference is you can only go so fast in an old beater where as the mustang will get you in a lot of trouble really fast!!!

I hate it when people say that. A v6 mustang will take you from 0-tree just at fast as a v8 mustang will, if you really need to"work up" to a v8, a high powered v6 isn't the best place either. Start them out in a old 2.3 fox body if it has to be a mustang.

Start with a truck... lots of metal surrounding you, and terrible throttle response. Plus it has a low governor haha.

+10000 that's exactly how I started, I don't think I ever pushed past 90mph in my truck no matter how much I tried lol

Something with not much power, no traction lock, and a good weight distribution would be ideal. Yea a V6 can kill someone easily also but a V8 with traction lock can be deadly for someone who can't handle the power or responsibility. A 2.3 fox would be good (if its not the turbod one lol)

Sorry, I've never driven a v6 mustang so I don't know. I've only heard from people that they aren't very powerful.

It all matters how responsible you are, if you are doing 60 around a turn that's meant to be 20, you are going to lose control. The last time I checked a v6 and v8 can both go 60mph.

If your going 60 in a 20mph corner 1) thats a sharp corner very sharp corner 2) if your doing 60 into that corner then you obv cant drive and dont have the responsibility to drive a car let alone any type of sports car

But he is correct its all on responsibility, you can be in a 4banger or a v12 and if its raining and you get on those painted lines and lose control, its how responsible you are in the car but on the other hand..
Most grown adults cannot afford a 5.0 mustang and how should a 16 year deserve such expensive vehicle when they are just learning to drive, im glad i was started in a v6.. It showed me a huge power difference driving it daily to getting my gt, you learn respect for the car and how it can make you happy one minute and take your life and other peoples lives away in a minute,

When your 16 you dont think cause lord knows ive been there and lost a fellow mustang buddy along the way my bestfriend, so working your way up to the v8 is the best way in my opinion to learning the correct respect for a car and how you should treat it on the road and off the road(track)

Yeah lol I started in a 05 civic.. Brand new. I was like 11 or 12. Lol dad let me drive all the time because I've loved cars forever.. Then a Toyota matrix lol then a ford ranger.-. Totaled that when I was 16. Being stupid not watching where I was going. And no I was not texting.. Then drove my dads 2010 gt alllll the time. Loved that car. It was a beast and sounded like it to. Yeah I've pushed it before but never lost control thank god lol. And now I have my own all mine. Lol 2000 v6 mustang:p but it's enough for me. I love my car

I agree with workin your way up. I had a v6 stang, gt with 310 to the wheels and then I got a cts when the gt got totaled (hydroplaned) and a f150 at the same time and sold the truck and im dropping a 6.0l in my cts built to 500 hp. Im 18 and I have used my money to pay for everything. It definitely pays to have a less powerful vehicle first or every once in awhile and if you go for a high hp standard vehicle, make sure you own a less powerful standard.

I guess people should work their way up, I've got a v8 and its my first car, but it is all about self policing and not being an idiot. I wanted a trans am with a 440 for my first car, and still do want one, but I haven't been able to find one.

Don't start the hate again lol. However I'm glad I started with and 04 v8 auto. Then bought myself a 11 5.0 manual. It just depends how responsible the person is. I don't think an irresponsible kids parents are gonna buy him a 30+k car.
