Buddy had a 2004 Nismo 350Z and that thing was sick. It could book it, too. If I recall he ran mid to high 12s.

Re: Bros thinking about Gettin a 350z

Zs are great cars, my dad has a vert at 160Kish miles and shes still running remarkably strong. We see them here at Firebird ALL the time, they're fast, and have exceptional handling, pretty much every other drift car here is a Z.
Speaking of such, if you want to know anything about Zs, check out this guy
Joel Mondragon | Facebook
hes a regular here and is sponsored with a gorgeous Z, that is also his daily driver..!

I almost bought a gorgeous black one before i bought Jet, but the kid who had it before rode her pretty hard, and in mid test drive, the clutch gave out :/ But to the point, i urge your brother to get a Mustang if hes going to mod, because well, thats my taste but if hes more into tuners/imports, hell yeah get a Z, because IMO i find them classy and sleek! If i ever have room in my garage to buy another car besides a Mustang, classic, or a bike, it would be a Z

IMO they are great performing cars, but they look a little soft.. A little feminine. I wouldn't drive one myself, but I know people that like the way they look and I respect that.

I find they hold their value pretty well. Buddy bought an '06 with 45k miles for $16k in 2009 and sold it a year later with 75kmiles to a dealership for $14.5k. And that was to a dealer.. Lol

Re: Bros thinking about Gettin a 350z

ya cause your friend got it for auto auction/repo price haha cant really lose money on something already extremely depreciated, the car was still or should of been worth more then 14k but you said it was a trade in so maybe thats fair

---------- Post added at 02:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:07 PM ----------

06 with 75k miles seems to avg go for 18-19, so for a dealer to give him 14.5k thats ok not great but acceptable

Ah, makes sense. Yeah, he traded it in on a '09 Tundra that was loaded out.

Dont buy a toyota there garbage let me explain how cheep the metel is they use that they charge so freaking much for ok.

In the world of trucks theres torque specafications for diffrent nuts and bolts holding them together lets look at ford dodge and chevy for instance and will just focus on the lugs cause lets face it what most ppl can do at home and most likely will is wheels weather its putting a spare on or custome wheels

Ford torque specs on lugs with a 21mm hex nut torgue to 150 foot lbs. Ive seen them tightened to over 250 b4 the stud broke

Chevy torques a 22mm hex nut to 140 foot pounds and ive seen chevy studs break as low as 145 foot lbs not very much leway for adaquit clamping force to hold the wheel on

Dodge torque specs on a 22mm hex nut is 135 foot lbs i have seen over 250 b4 stud failier

Now to toyota toyota likes to dance things around threw diffrent yrs of manufacturing on the how big the nut weather its a flange nut etc (all manufactures do to a degree but toyota will run diffrent torque specs on every model with in a yr and they dont offer a big diesel or spacific diesel hubs as an excuss as to why so yr torque could be 76foot lbs 83foot lbs or 86foot lbs i have seen toyota studs snap when torque sepcs are exceeded as low as 2lbs over specs and toyota charges on average 15$ more per stud to replace.

This is atributed to impurities in the metel compound or a "weekness" in its fabrecatation.

Toyota making crap dirt cheep and selling it as high as possable and unfortunatlly ppl are stupid enough to keep buying them. (no offence but if u bout a toyota u got ripped off in quility of meterals period!)

Re: Bros thinking about Gettin a 350z

I remember watching a video where engineers compared an F150 and a Tundra frame. They did a stress test on the frame to simulate flex which produces deflection. The F150 flexed about .289 thousandths of an inch under static load. The Tundra saw deflection around 1.3".

Under load, with 275lbs on one corner of the F150 frame, it twisted to .857 thousandths. The Tundra, under the same conditions, deflected to 3.233"

Doesn't seem like a lot but regarding engineering statics and dynamics that's a huge difference and could lead to structural failure.

This is also a good example of what im tryin to say. Its not just boxed vs C chanel design its the fact that they add more common weaker metels into the mixing/manufacturing of the metel that ends up on the vehical its self.
