Found a Saturn for $300

Its a 1995 Saturn 4 door. The girl is a friend of mine and has had the car for a few years, it has 265k on it and just stopped running, it had water in the oil according to her brother. So im thinking about buying it and just cleaning it up and selling it for 800 or best offer.

She wants $300 for it

What do you guys think i should do?

Do you think that would make it start up? It just keeps turning over and its pumping a little water out of the radiator with the cap off, the water should be pretty still with the cap off, My Gt doesnt push water out with the cap off when starting or idling.

And doesnt the car have to be running to filter that stuff through the system? I dont see how it could seal anything without running, but then again, ive never used it so idk.

Ya I think there is another issue and u do have to get it running. You'll make the biggest profit getting it running, not too many people want a car that doesn't runs especially that one.

Engine could be hydro locked or have thrown internals. worst case scenario... take it apart and part it out. Tires and rims should be worth a couple hundred, brake calipers a few hundred, rad 50, head mayb 50, seats 100 etc etc

If its just the head gasket and not a cracked head, its $50 for a head gasket and then ill have the head shaved if need be.

Basically a term to describe an engine which bent or broke a rod because it tried to compress water.

I think its worth it. If it ends up needing the engine rebuilt then you could make good money parting it out if u have room for it. If its just a head gasket, that's not too hard. If u end up having to cut ur losses, scrap yards usually pay $200.

If you're capable of that kind of turn around I'd say go for it.
