Domistic Rice

What are your views on these type of cars? Srt4 neon/caliber, SS cobalt. Focus RS. you think they're just as bad as honda owners or better?
Personally I like any car that's nice and owned right. Don't make it into something that it's not. Or brag that it has 600hp on a 1.5L that has nothing but a intake. Lol.

A friend of mine had an SRT-4 and it was pretty quick in a straight line, but under steered like a snow plow.

Actually Hondas are great cars, the owners are generally the issue.

Ha. I have some guy here with a cobalt LX and made it look like a SS and one day it's turbo charged then the next week its supercharged. Said he can break even and stay with corvettes.

I don't think 4 cylinders means "rice". I see Hondas that are well maintained, clean paint, NO STICKERS, built with turbos. Not rice. That stock Civic on blackie nasties(er, "steelies") with Skunk2 and JDM stickers all over it is rice. Same applies to every other sport compact. I saw some guy at McDonalds the other day in an RSX that must have spent tons of money to make his car look fast. Big spoiler held down with the cables, fresh paint, slammed, doofy stickers all over it, side skirts, Bride seats all that crap. I literally hung my entire body out of the window of my girlfriend's 05 v6 and pointed at him and laughed(had a few beers). Guy saw me, turned his head and pretended he didn't see me. Not good when some doofus in a v6 mustang can point you out and you don't have the pride to return it. That's rice. Sorry for the essay, i'm kinda entertaining myself.

Rice isn't about engine size or even country of origin. Its about quality and taste of modification. Rice is cheap and you get a lot of it and its not that great. A riced car has a bunch of cheap ****ty mods that look like ****.

I can see the point of any well maintained car. Be it a neon with a srt4 swap, quality suspension components and a tasteful interrior treatment. Or a modidied civic that looks stock or close to it. Hell even a cobalt ss with modification as long as the driver isn't a pure ******. And I love fast focus'. I want a svt focus for dd badly. And I wish we had the focus rs here. Those are awesome. Its not about the car, its about the quality of the guy/girl doing the modifying. I see lots of badly riced skylines and supras, audis, vw, bimmers, and mustangs that get the rice treatment. Keep it clean and its all good.

How it was explained to me by a guy that has owned skylines to Mr2 to evos: rice is when someone underpass for stupid mods that takes no consideration for the history of the car. TUNER is the preferred word for a person who takes an import and mods it the right way.

My folks have been riding Hondas several years now, including my sister, and I traded a $2k civic that I drove for six years with ZERO issues.

Part of the thing muscle car ppl hate about 'ricers' is their closed minded.. Don't be closed minded.. Meaning when I say Hondas are good cars I don't take into consideration what any one person likes, I'm speaking to durability, reliability, repeat customers and so on and so on..

I bought a 96 DX Civic hatchback for 2k, had 88k miles.. Put drive axels in it drove it for 6years.. Had Honda do the axels and they rented me a car while I waited and there was a recall, the recall was a complete tune up.. Plugs, wires, cap, button and oil change all FREE.

I'd like an eg(92-95) civic hatch. All the ricer kids inflated their value though. I enjoy my sedan for what it is though (35mpg)

Mine is the epitome of beater. Plasti-dipped the roof, dented door, neither back windows go down, rear springs shot, love it!
