Re: Exhaust sounds

My Vote is on the Magnaflow "Agressive Tone" mufflers and a Offroad X or H pipe, doesn't matter which one or which Brand, I started out with a Magnaflow X pipe, but whiched that to a BBK X pipe because I added BBK Long Tube Headers and had to get the matching X pipe for the Headers.

Yea I'm gonna redo my exhaust anyway gonna go with a 3in set up was thinking bout hooker headers a H pipe and back with 40's think thatll take the Chevy sound away?

Yeah it should, and the H pipe will give you a slightly Deeper sound to your Exhaust than a X pipe.

Of the Midpipes? The H is supposed to give lower Deeper sounds, and give a little more low end Torgue. The X is supposed to give a slightly higher HP, but at higher RPMs and is said to give a slightly higher sound, some say Drone sound, I have not noticed that, and the sound is deeper enough for me. However, I can not say that I have heard a Mustang with a H pipe, so I have no idea of how that sounds. The Power band difference, you will probably not notice because the difference comes in at much much higher PRMs.

On my 87 I have h-pipe with slp loudmouths on them and it sounds really good no cats either, I'm trying to find a old sound clip as my 87 is in the tear down stage for a rebuild. Not raspy at all real deep similar to super 44s

That's kinda what I heard, but as I stated I have the X pipe and it sounds fine to me, I've gotten many, many compliments on it's sound.
