The one that got away

What is that one car that you sold and when you look back you wish you still had it more than any other.
Mine would have to be the '06 GT that my dad sold a couple years back. It would have been mine now, but it was that or the challenger, and there was no way in hell he was getting rid of the challenger. The only problem was the cobra badges from the previous owner, but that fooled so many people into thinking it was some special edition. It rode like sh1t, but it just added to its bad@$$ factor, I would have debadged it, and did a larger tb and a tuner and there would be my perfect car.

Re: The one that got away

My '95 Probe GT. Many suspension mods, it ran on rails & still rode decent. 200k miles & no parts support meant it had to go even though the engine was still solid (never opened past valve covers)--accessories & wire harness were showing their age.

Good choice in car , if I were to but all the money that I put in my current 2v in to a dsm I would have one hell of a street / track car . I bought that car with 60k bone stock for 2500 I sold it for 4500 I just could not turn down that offer

It was never mine but in the late 90's I was negotiating the purchase of a '57 Chevy Belair. It was a 4dr had a strait 6 and 3 on the tree. It was at a small used car lot. The guy told me that it was a tough sale because nobody wanted the 4dr, 6, unrestored but it was in decent shape. He didn't even know where the fuel door was. When I showed him, he was like, whaaa? Lol

Down to brass tacks he said, the first guy with $3,500 cash walks away with it but he'd finance it for $1,000 down +$3,500 in 6 months. I told him I was gonna try to get the down payment.

It took me 2 weeks and when I came back the car was gone.
I asked him had he sold it? He said, this morning.

My brothers 1996 GT with the 4.6l and I was in the process of getting a new trans for it then he sold it. I was angry. I had so many plans for it including making it a sleeper
