Re: How to stop speeding and get more MPG

Well if you're not going over 80 mph, you're good

They say going over 80mph kills! So I keep it right around 80

Re: How to stop speeding and get more MPG

If you have a manual then just shift right around 2k-2.5k rpms and never let it go above 2.25k on the freeway. It helps with mileage so much, im not able to do that in my truck cause its an auto and i love the sound of a V8, but i tried it for about 2 weeks once and noticed a huge difference. Its going to be even harder when i get exhaust for it lol.

Re: How to stop speeding and get more MPG

ROFL!

Yeah, simple solution: keep your foot out of it. On the newer cars, switch to the instant mileage display as a little nag to help with that.

Re: How to stop speeding and get more MPG

I average between 15 and 17 mpg in my GT. But on better days, I've reached 19. Downhill slopes are the best because I just slip it into neutral, and let the car cruise.......at least until the car in front of me starts braking....
