A new look for Ford?

Here is a little speculation on what the new Taurus might look like

Spy Photos: 2010 Ford Taurus, Redux

blows other cars in that class if you ask me and the new turbo engines will be sweet too.

That statement right there means that it will never see production....once they get something right, they have to reverse engineer it into something not so right.

The only time you can trust hope from a ford design/concept/spy shot leak is when you see it on the showroom floor. Then, and only then, can you believe that A. They are going to build it. and B. That it will look like what you are looking at.

Looks awesome. Looks like the Ford Daniel Craig drove in 007 Casino Royal on his way to the resort.

oh lord, your opinions on appearance are no longer valid. the only good lookin cars in GM's lineup are the cadillacs. they are really milkin the UGLY look of the grand am and cavalier from the 90s. its 2008... its time to move on. dodge has the neon... enough said (altho the viper's sexiness can ALMOST make up for it). but i'm also not saying ford is that grand either. they are all pretty mediocre nowadays besides a few exceptions. the only thing that american car companies seem to do well designing is their trucks. the best looking cars on the road to me nowadays are bmws, mercedes, lexus, infiniti, mazda, and a few cars from honda (accord), toyota (camry), and nissan (350z). most of them are 30k+ go figure.

Yup...that about cancels out your opinions on appearance as well.

The new vipers look like ***....the cadilacs look like boxes on wheels.

You started to come back towards the end, but, didn't quite get back to trustworthy status.

But I agree....there isn't much in the american lineup that looks good at all. US designers have really lost all ability to design cars. They just hodge podge other designs together...or just leave everything the status quo. No unique thinking anymore...everything seems to styled after something before it. The mustang, the craparo, and the challenger all all retro cars. No new thought there. The GTSlow is just a grand prix with a V8. Nothing new coming from the US at all...just the same ole same ole.

The original vipers...and maybe all the way up to 99 or 2000 are nice...but this newest abortion is horrible.

The cadillac aka charger aka 300 series makes me shake my head everytime I see one. Looks like the design was developed one night in a frat house while someone was building a house of cards...they took a shot and said, wow, that would be a hot car.

Re: A new look for Ford?

im not really a car guy. i love trucks. so i guess i gotta remember im on a car forum. i will take any gm truck over a ford or dodge any day of the week. and cadillac is awsome too. now lincoln aint to shabby eather. but some of these ford cars are just flat out UGLY. only car the got right (and im not just saying this) is the mustang. they brought back old and made it modern. thats the way to do it.

i love the vette too. other than that, your right. what was gm thinking with the aveo.

now the escalade, tahoe, yukon, sierra, silverado, corvette, G8, any cadillac car. are just awsome.

That's alright...everyone makes mistakes...it's what you learn from your mistakes that matters. We won't hold it against you.

Looks good. But a little to much like the Camry at least in my opinion, and looking at just the front and side.

Re: A new look for Ford?

How can you change the Blue Oval? Although I understand a century under the same logo can come across as the same company with lack of design. I think it's simple sleek and one of the most recognizable (American even) symbols we have left and can be proud of.

As for trucks, F150>Ram1500 (friend's got one and it is nasty)>anything GM can come out with IMO. Although dad's '97 Blazer is on 233,000+ miles now with no major work done to it, still runs smooth.

As for the new accord, the outside is nice, but i hate the interior, I also hate Honda, but the whole dash. The Camry to me is ugly, just a huge metal box with an ugly grill [think Nissan's Murano]. I also hate Toyota though. I will give credit to the older designs, but doesn't change my hatred.

While the Caddies are big boxes themselves, I gotta' give it to them, I think the pulled it off. For once I think I can say I like something from GM.

Now has anyone seen the new Ford commercials, or read the recent ratings on them? Ford is now being compared to Toyota as just as reliable. That's gotta be the right step somewhere?

BTW I think the Taurus resembles something from Acura some bit, I wanna say RSX? But it ain't bad.

so is chevy though on reliability. my neighbor has an 08 expidetion and an 2007 f35. the f350 had been good with only little stuff, but any diesel is a long lasting truck. bt his expi has been a nightmare. he has had three different trannys put in and is now in a lawsuit with ford for a lemon law. its been a huge hassle and he wishes he never bought it, and because of the issue he has had he will never buy ford again. i really dont blame him. but i hate to say it. ford and reliability just dont go together, its an oxiemoron.

now i dont dislike ford. i can just tell you that gm has been beating then in almost every class with auto reviews and personal review of people i talk with.

if thats what they say, prove it with real world people not tests. with chevy i have seen both. i dont think i would ever own a ford were it for the mustang. i just DONT trust them. 2 bad experiences were enough. ever had an engine fall out of the engine bay on the freeway, while towing your pride and joy to the water?? will thats what happened to my 05 expidetion, i sued and got my money back, then bought the yukon BEST TRUCK EVER.

ever had a car just cetch on fire in your garage. thats what happened with my 01 explorer. never again, i made that mistage 2 times to many.

whats gm been recalled for latly. some tranny issues which is all software.

btw. you do realise tha buick is not the most reliable vehicle out there now according to JD.

Highly doubtful since we just got a full redesign on the focus this year.

I thought I heard about the redesigned Focus even before the Taurus. After all I would think the Focus is supposed to be Ford's answer to the import economy class?

Re: A new look for Ford?

the new focus won't get here till 2010 or 2011. back to reliability my dad has a coworker that had to get a chevy dealer to buy back his truck for constant problems. the 99 silverado my dad had was horrible.
