New car help

So as some of you know I will be selling my mustang and hopefully it sells soon. As for a new car I'm looking at either an sti, ls2 corvette, or terminator. This car will be my daily driver and track car, I wanna know what you guys think and what you guys would choose. I'm kinda not trying to look into the vette for I think it would be more expensive to modify. The sti is nice since its awd and is the better handling car, the cobra is sick and easy for power. So thanks on you're opinions

You know what I think. With autox in mind, I'd go STi. But the Cobra would be nice also.

Yes, the Vette will be VERY expensive to mod. My brother has one. If you are going to be happy with mid to high 12's, decent handling, and a fun car that stays stock, it's an awesome car. If you want to make it better and work on it yourself ( and you aren't rich) they SUCK. Couple grand just to buy a "cheap" exhaust kit.

What do you look for in a DD? Those Subaru's are pretty reliable cars, but they're very expensive to mod. I would personally take a Terminator over all of those. Are you planning on doing a lot of Auto X next year?

Yikes yea I was fearing that they would be preety pricey to mod.. I'll stay away from those then.

I just drive 7 miles to work and go out to movies and stuff. Just a reliable car that can be DD and when taken to the track perform very well. Really subarus are expensive to mod? I thought they might of been like a termi price range mod wise. Yea I'm looking at the termis and they are nice especially that I can work on them myself. Yea I autocross like maybe 1-2 times a month and drag strip like once every few months

Well compared to modding our GTs the Subaru is pretty damn expensive. They probably are on par with Terminators for mods. Around the track they are amazing cars though.

Hmm. Im also looking into the gto's. I'll prob lean toward the termi since I'm more familiar with ford and mustangs in general.

Out of those four I would be stuck between the Cobra and the STI. You definitely get a better starting point with the terminator

I'd be tempted to look at a gto instead of the vette if i were you. Or get a newer mustang gt.

Im looking at them and most of them are low mileage and cheaper than cobras... Can't seem to find a decent mileage sti for under 19k. I really don't like the new ones like 05-10. I'd like a 5.0 but I can't afford that. My budget is under 19k

19k budget looking for a fun dd with lots of power sounds like a gto to me. That or a mach 1 with mod money left over.

Yea. The gto's I'm looking at are under 16k and with under 50k miles. If I get a cobra or sti I probably won't have money to fix em up right away I would have to wait a while

I would be on the i-club forum right now if there was a Subaru dealer in my city.

Which was a stupid way of thinking. My mustang has only been to the dealer about half a dozen times in 2 years.

+1 the 4g63t motor is a monster. The stock internals can handle 500+ hp and all wheel drive is sick. I had a 91 talon, tsi awd, and it was an animal. If i was ever going to get another car that wasnt a ford it would be a dsm.

Buddy of mine with a modded sti just bought a stock 03 cobra. Told me he's done with the subi, cobra is already faster stock.

The awd is fun...but still no comparison.

Honestly...a mach1 with some play money could be fun too

I had a talon and sold it also. I don't know much about the evo's besides their turbo awd

I'm trying to look for an already FI car or a car with at least 400hp. I'd do a Mach but don't wanna go threw the hassle of putting a blower on it

Same motor as the dsm's. Better intake and exhaust manifolds, bigger turbo and i think the trans may be different. Only downside is the evo's are all 7 bolt motors and have a tendency to crankwalk

Both nice cars, I had a friend with an R32 and I was really impressed with the interior and sound of the exhaust. But it was much slower than my STi, but still a fast car. I also had a friend with an S2K and it was faster than my STi around the twisties and almost as fast in a straight line. Out of the two, I would prefer the S2K, it can be made to handle like a go cart and I'm not a huge fan of the Golf body style.

If you were talking about the VW R32's...they don't look so cool to me. I'm not personally into the s2ks, but they certainly look like sports cars. I think they can be pretty fast too. I don't think they are up to performance of a Terminator, are they? I'm not as familiar with their mod abilities.

Yea I'm kinda looking for a coupe as well, they handle better than the termis but don't have the power.

They are kinda small. Heck, they prolly both can be made to autoX really well. I totally understand your thirst for power, Lol
