I have respect for ls motors, just not in stock form.

Why do certain Fox body owners toss 5.3's in their cars w/ turbos.

Ready, go

If we all agreed with the original post it would have been dead long ago. I'm always up for a good debate like this , it would ha e been the other way around on a GM forum, and we'd all be off our rockers over there.

---------- Post added at 10:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 PM ----------

I owned a Camaro for 10 years, and I've had my Stang for a year and a half now. Not unhappy with my purchase; I still believe the new 5.0 is the cat's tits for technology on the market and stand by my purchase even to my GM buddies, and they know it.

---------- Post added at 10:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:51 PM ----------

IMO, if you actually want to BUILD a motor, go LS. Otherwise, slap on some forced induction and call it a day.

Because Ls-1's are ten years newer technology then Windsor pushrod engines... Or any gen 3 Chevy motor. And my 5.8 stock compression fox walks a cammed and headed built stalled 4L80E 69 5.3 cutlass all day.

No **** the 5.3 isn't a ls1 but tell me, what non short block parts won't work on either engine??? Cuz I happen to see 243's all over Ls-1s...

And LT-1 is considered generation 2

Because Ls 2 is considered generation 4

I know my competition...

They do though... North of 90mph and they start coming. I'm afraid to see how bad I'd lose on a quarter mile track. Luckily only 1/8 miles around here

I was at the strip a couple months ago, surprised a C6 with catback only wasn't outrunning me. My Stang (axleback only) was faster all night by .3 and 3 mph.

Let's not forget the cobra will still be faster with the same amount spent on mods. $500 on the cobra will guarantee a decent driver 11's
