Where can I get an insurance quote?

I want to get an insurance quote on my car but every site I go to asks me for a lot of information such as address, name and other personal things. Is this how you have to do it? Or is there a site where you just type in your birthday and info about your car? I just want an approximate quote. I'm only 16 and would be insuring a 1974 Ford Mustang II with a v6. How much do you think that would be?

Whats the best site for quotes?

All insurance companies are going to ask for all the information so they can get as close as possible without running your motor vehicle report.

you can google 'cheap auto insurance' and you'll come up with quite a few.

well they need most of that information for the quote... insurance depends on more than just age and type of car you drive. it differs by location, driving record, sometimes the grades you have in school, and lots of other things. so, no site can give you an accurate quote with just your birthday and type of car.

expect to pay A LOT for that car at your age. i couldn't give you a quote, because, I don't know enough about you.

The best site for quotes would be the individual companies websites... like www.geico.com and www.progressive.com

some say they give you quotes from other companies to compare rates... but, in my experience, those quotes were really off compared to the quote the other companies actually gave me. so, take those comparisons with a grain of salt.

another good option would be to open your yellow pages and look up car insurance. call the companies listed there, some may not have webpages. they will also be able to give you a more accurate quote and help you decide on coverage if you don't know what all that stuff means.

good luck.

don't listen to the hype, call an agent in the phone book....ask your parents who they buy from or ask a friend....I can tell you don't buy for the good hands people...they love not to pay claims. So don't go there..good luck finding a good agent....also don't stay if you don't get a discount.....see a new agent each year and your rates continue to drop.
good luck

V6 Mustang II won't be too bad. If you had the V8 it would be really expensive.

Online quotes are all the same. You have to put that info in. Your other option is to go to an insurance agency and do it in the office.
