What could/would a person do on a car lot?

Your at your local Ford Dealer on a Sunday afternoon specing out the new cars. You see a brand new Mustang GT parked by the showroom that has been left unlocked.

You look in the car and discover that the sales people have left the dealer plate on it and it still has the keys in the ignition. What do you do?

My wife and I put 30 miles on it and dropped the keys in the Service Dept. key slot? Did we do a bad thing?

You stole a car. You probably left prints all over it, including on the keys. Wait for the knock on the door. And they might not even need to run your prints, chances are they caught it all on camera.

I would say that was not a good thing to do. There are now 30 miles on a new vehicle that are unaccounted for. ask next time. If they new it was you, you could be arrested.

yea you did a bad thing. you don,t test drive a car unless they tell you that you can. that,s the same as stealing even though you brought it back.

You will probably find a lump of coal in your Xmas Stocking for that one. Someone is bound to notice an extra 30 miles on their new car. BTW, how was it on the road?

Yeah, you did.

Do you really have to ask?

You stole the vehicle.

You had no permission to use it, and you took it without notice. That's THEFT.
