How does trading in a vehicle work?

I am planning on trying to trade my 1997 Ford Mustang for a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. I drove about 132,000 miles on the mustang and the price for the beetle is $17,625 with only 32,500 miles driven on it.

Does anyone know how the trade-in would work in this process.

You ALWAYS get screwed trading in a car...better to sell outright to an individual than let some dealer cheat you.
