Obama gas emissions what about the old cars?

Ok, so i get that Obama wants to get a 35mpg in the law, but there is one thing i can't find in any news posts-

what about the present cars? (1900-2009 model years)
will all cars made before 2016 be junked and scrapped?
what about cars that are registered as Antique cars and trucks?
will they be allowed to remain on the road?

i ask this because of some laws that already exist in some states such as in the state of Texas any car or truck registered as an Antique can't be towed, removed, or junked without owner permission, due to that Texas calls them "historic monuments"

will they be taken off the road?

being honest, if old cars are to be removed and banned, i'm moving to Canada, where this law will not be, thats honest.

i will not drive an electric powered Mustang in the future and say its a sports car

thanks and this is really important to me, i don't want to give up my 9 classic cars that i own

The law is for vehicles built on or after the date it takes affect.

We are still a long way from retroactive performance standards for existing vehicles. I think there would be a pretty major fight if you tried to take our hot rods and dragsters ect.

As said, i don't think he will remove them!

He better not, i'm building up a classic car right now, i'd hate to finish it in 2010 and then not be able to drive it for even 6 years!!

No. The future laws are for future models. You won't drive an electric Mustang unless Ford Rehires Robert MacNamara, who wanted them to all have economic six-cylinder engines like the 1960 Ford Falcon.

If Toyota and Honda can meet the standard now, Ford can too. Just don't expect yourTexas oil well to be opened back up after twenty years of shut-in. Domestic oil production is a gamble and foreign oil is an addiction.

Canada has complained most loud about acid rain from US pollution. Move there, but don't expect to find GMC still operating, and Sandeep Singh in Bambay has the tech industry job you can't get there. You can become a lumberjack, or work the ski resorts and watch all the rich German Tourists have fun spending euros like they're going out of style. Their government is functional, like Obama is trying to make this one.

I'd take your Tesla as a second-prize, to a Mustang- Chinese batteries and all.

This is like "No child left behind" for Our industries. If we keep on flunking, we'll have no standing in the business world.
