I wouldn't.
How many people do you know that leave cars on your property?
Something smells fishy.

How do you know this guy even owns the car?
What if he stole it and has been hiding it?

If he could get a title that easy for you ,then he would have got one for his self a long time ago,Tell him that you wont to get the vin # off of the car so you can have it ran to see if it's been stolen are not, see with he tells you then,You need to stay away from this deal ,because if you buy it and the police fines it they will take the car and you will need a lawyer to get out of this mess, plus you wont have the car or your money.

Don't do it. I think selling/buying cars with no titles is illegal in most places. Also, it sounds really iffy...aka scammy.

I'd stay away from it. Who says its not stolen anyways? They coulda stole it took it to the chop shop and now they are just selling this random cobra with no title.

PS - wait a minute I just read this question again...

Nobody just leaves a mustang cobra. That's a nice freakin car. Why would anybody just abandon that car? well here's two guesses: the people who abandoned it stole it, or used it in a murder or some other crime, or the guy who is selling it stole it and thats just the story he's tellin you.

stay away from that...

its fine you can go to the dmv and file for a lost title. not a hard thing to do and not a big problem and its very typical to be woried. id do it and when you go to the dmv to register it and crap file for a lost title...PS youll most likely have the dmv do and inspection.

Stay away! Get the vin and have the DMV run it and ask them what to do about a no title car if you are really interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The original owner could come back or declare car stolen.

I would steer clear of it. If has the legal right to sell it he should be able to get a title for it pretty easily. Sounds like trouble to me. Good luck either way!
