The life left on a 1987 Camaro 80k miles?

I may be purchasing a 1987 Camaro with around 80k miles on it. It is manual and looks to be in good condition. I'm wondering if this car will be able to stand daily use of more than 5 miles. It's selling for 2500. Should I instead buy a dealer 1999 mustang? It's like will probably be longer than the Camaro but I'd really prefer it. So my question really is, is a 1987 Camaro for 2500$ worth the money if it may just break down within a year or so? Would it even break down if treated correctly?

really? 5 miles a day? either one should be just fine. just keep up on regular maintenance and the the 87 cold last another 100,000 miles. both are used with no warranty so just have each one checked out. don't believe anything a dealer or private person might tell you, use your instincts

does the camaro have a V5 document? if so check the mileage records and see if the mileage adds up, otherwise the 1999 mustang may be the appropriate buy, as its only 12 years old and has alot of life left in it but the camaro is 24 years old and im sure has been through some rough times, its totally up to you, if you bought the camaro and treated it well and made sure it passed its MOT's and replaced any parts it needed then it would last, plus they are extremely nice cars, but again so are the mustangs, ahah, its totally up to you what you buy, hope this helps
