Re: Tickets

Just got pulled over in the 93 yesterday, got off with a warning for my inspection sticker (just got insurance and a plate last friday, so no time to get it inspected yet anyhow). I guess I have 5 days to get it done now.

I titled it friday as well, here, you have until you drive out of the DMV office to get it inspected.

However, you can't get it inspected until you get insurance...so you really are in a catch 22...specially when you work 9-6 everyday and the places are only open till 5...

Re: Tickets

yeah that sucks, especially since you can't get insurance without it being registered! most cops will understand though and hopefully you will get a break.

if it makes you feel better, i got pulled over on my way to the track the other day for no front plate. the cop was cool as hell though, told me he really liked my car hehe

That's where it is funny here, you can get insurance without registering the car.

But, you need to get insurance, register the car, then get it inspected...because you can't get an inspection until you have insurance and a registration...but you technically can't drive the car until you get it inspected. It's pretty funny when he explained how it worked to me.

Re: Tickets

Good lord man Im amazed he didn't take your license and light it on fire in front of you.

55 in a 35 2004
Ran a Stop sign 2005
Tint 2005
Parked on wrong side of road 2006
73 in a 35 2008

Then a slew of fines I had to actually goto district court for...
Leaving the Scene
Careless Driving
Failure to provide aid to an injured person(My friend's elbow got cut up..)
False Reports

All these stem from a rrrrrrrrreally stupid night I had where I wrecked my parents car and basically left the scene, went home, called the next day saying the car had been stolen, and eventually just confessed to the cop who was taking the report. All because I couldn't man up and just tell my parents I wrecked there car(they didn't know I had it).
Not too bad right?

I have bargained with most of them to where I recieved no points but max fines and I just put them on a payment plan of like 25 a month. The tint and parking fines were dropped.

Re: Tickets

So far I've gotten a bunch of parking tickets, got out of most of them.....i got a seat belt ticket which was $105, and I just got pulled over in California for the first time for not yielding to a pedistrian. I got off with a warning, but I didn't see a guy attempting to cross the road, and I don't even know where the cop came from, I couldn't see him sitting anywhere.

Re: Tickets

i hate that, pedestrians should yield to cars unless its a red light. what were you supposed to be yielding at, at a light/stop sign?

Re: Tickets

i stopped at a stop sign on a side street, test driving a car for work. I was trying to hear a noise a customer was complaining about. Apparently i didn't see an older gentleman just stepping off the curb to cross the street. Next thing i know theres a cop behind me with lights flashing. I got a warning and was told to get my California license within a few days. I still don't know where that popo came from, he wasn't anywhere near the intersection, i looked all ways before i took off from the stop sign

Re: Tickets

Here we go again. Rapid acceleration. This only ticket ive ever gotten that i will argue with. I took off from a light a bike next to me jumped on it. So this cop pulls both me and the bike over gives him a ticket and myself a ticket.

Re: Tickets

87 in a 70 in, of all things, the Ranger

I've gotten plenty of parking tickets at school. However, they don't give "real" parking tickets unless you park in a handicap zone, they just won't let you register for classes until you pay the $25 fee. The only way they know who you are when they do that is by the number on your parking decal being "linked" to your school account. I figured that out pretty quick and just never registered for a parking decal when I got my Jeep. So I get a parking ticket, it just goes in the trash, never had my registration blocked or any other problems.

Re: Tickets

hmm, brad (lowflyn) definitely wins the prize for most speeding tickets.

kyle - what can i say, keep your clothes on public, boy. haha

i've had my mustang for over a year and a half already (looove it!)

1 speeding ticket - 85 in a 65 - state tropper (he was nice and knocked it down to 75 in a 65 and said he'd let me go "but couldn't ignore the fact that i was speeding." lol. he also gave me a warning for my tint.

in baton rouge - pulled over 3 times for tint and exhaust, only received warnings, that's all luckily. cops are a$$holes down there. be careful on I12 and airline, that's all i can say. ha

Re: Tickets

In the silver v6... failure to maintain control. (Feb. 2006)
In the GT, same week I got the car, Careless Driving, which was dismissed by the prosecuting attorney.

Other than that in the GT I've been pulled over for:
loud exhaust (I have the quiet Borlas )
rear license plate light being out... x 4
fog light being out

Re: Tickets

I also got pulled over for driving my Jeep without doors on it, the cop said it was a vehicular code violation. After some arguing and the fact that he couldn't tell me the code I was violating (I sat there knowing the whole time there was no code, since I've read through both local and state codes) he let me go.
