Possible trade?

So I have a chance to trade my car for a super charger 1966 chevelle. Here's the ad: "66 chevelle must go $5800 has b&m blower. B&m transmission. Comp cam double hump heads"
That's all it says. I called him and he is a big fan for the mullet generation mustangs and would go for the trade for my all original, rust free 1987 Mustang Gt with t-tops, automatic and 113,000 miles on the odo. It is a four door that has the back doors shaved so it "looks" like a two door. He says it runs good, it needs paint, like mine, and has a little rust in the trunk. Considering I have less than $3500 in my car I think it might be good. What do you think?

Eh, I've never been a fan of that body style. I wouldn't do it.

I've always liked the 70 chevelle better, but that dos sound like it has a sweet motor, I would probably check it out and if you do like it then make the trade... If its your daily driver then just think about how reliable and how easy it would be to drive daily. Just cause its an awesome car doesn't mean it would be a good DD

Yup, plus the motor looks like it was built several years ago.

Well, as far as it being a daily driver it would be fine, I drive less that 8 miles a day and can always get a ride if something is wrong. If it was a two door I would have it right now, it's just the four doors aren't worth anything. They are nice cars and I can't just go out and get it as a 1970. I'm still thinking about it.

Don't do it man. You got plenty of time in your life to get awesome cars. This may be stepping into risky territory.

It's not happening. I looked at it and it was extremely ruff. A $1500 car with a cool motor. Not a $5800 car by any means. Mine runs good and is rust free. If it was a 2 door though I would have it.

Good call on not getting it. I'm always pretty skeptical on a car that has a built motor and a blower that someone else built. You never know what could be lurking inside or if the person even know what they were doing.

Well right now I'm saving for insurance. I can only have one car so I might as well have a stupid, irresponsible, costly death trap now while I'm young with no real responsibility, other wise it wouldn't be until a mid life crisis that I could again. I'm just trying to get something better and/ or worth more.

i can't understand how you aren't happy with your car? a 302 is one of the easiest motors i've ever worked on and they take to mods better then most of the other motors made by ford. i'm glad you didn't trade that chevelle looked like it was worth maybe $1200 with that motor...4 door chevelles aren't worth jack crap and the owner knows it. you're young that's fine...so buy a blower and slap it on your car if you want something "better"

you have a good condition car don't forget that...if a guy wants to trade a supposedly more valueable car straight up something is wrong

I never said that I don't like it, I do, especially with the t-tops off. I'm just trying to trade it for something faster, more powerful and that is worth a little more. You guys talk about how I could just throw on a few bolt on, well I would if I could but things cost money, money of which I don't have.

A clean 87-88 with t-tops is worth more than the average fox body. If your a mustang fan i would hang on to that car. I passed up an 87 ttop car and i havent seen another one since.

CodyNelson said this in a different thread. Fast, Cheap, and Reliable pick two of the three. That car may have a sweet motor but it's a really old car and more prone to braking down more than your fox would. Bide your time and wait for something that is clean through and through instead of jumping on the first car with a sweet motor and nothing else. If it's your only source of transportation then I would stay far away from something like that.

Just how much is it worth? I've got a little under $3,500 into it.
