New Camaro vs Mustang

I actually finding Mustangs faster then the Camaro yet I had people try convince me otherwise but why am I finding videos of the Mustang out dragging a new Camaro lately? Yet I thought I heard Car and Driver and such saying the Camaro is better now I am confused.

I think Mustangs are faster, and so will everyone else on here lol. But the truth in that is because they both make about the same amount of power but the Mustang is a lot lighter than the Camaro, so it gets an advantage there. I do believe, however, that the Camaros come with 3.90 gears (SS model) so that could help them a little. But the win usually goes to the Mustang.

Oh heck yea! read my mind
I actually like the 1993-1996 Camaro the best, it looks aerodynamic and more sporty, yet did not match up to the Mustang but I still liked it style out of all the Camaros.

I would LOVE to see a stage 3 2013 Roush race against 2013 Camaro LZ1 set back and watch the Camaro get put to shame

Ive seen some too. Despite the mustang winning most races they give the win to the camaro because the mustangs brakes heat up or smothering.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca

The Camaro ZL1 wins against the Boss 302 but I think the stage 3 Roush is the only hope for the Mustang, stage 3 brakes and with supercharger like the Camaro will outrun it.

The zl1 should go against the gt500. The zl1 is a $60,000 car the boss 302 is $40,000

With equal drivers the coyote mustangs are faster than the LS3 camaros. Many of these magazines say that the Camaro is the better car but I have yet to find one say the Camaro is faster (not that I've read ALL magazines lol).

My point is "better" is an objective word where as faster has statistical data to back it up.

Camaros win with "opinions" but mustangs win with facts

It all depends on what options / trim levels you are talking about and what type of competition you are using to determine faster. Honestly both cars have pluses and minuses just like most comparisons. Honestly, the biggest advantage the mustang has for me is outward visibility. I don't mind the camaro, and I would love a new z28, and the zl1 I drove really is very well sorted, but the mustang has always appealed that extra bit to me. Also, I'm pretty sure if I were to jump ship, i would be looking for a vette.

I would trade my stang for a new stingray but that's about the only car I'd rather have and if I was spending that much I'd just buy the gt500 anyway ...

And honestly one if the best things about the mustang is the community. So many awesome people drive mustangs and you just don't get that brotherhood and community feel so much with camaros

Like the one individual said, it depends on trims. When I do comparisons, I usually look at autos because they are more consistent and need less driver input. I prefer a standard, but for consistency, auto is a better baseline.

When I decided on the Mustang, it was the best power to weight ratio of all the front rears available. I laugh when I think about the SS having the gas guzzler tax, for being so inefficient at making 400 some horsepower, while the GT500 is approaching 670 and still avoids it.
