Son to take the 5.0 on Prom night

Our son drives a manual tranny, '02 Jeep TJ and has had my GT out just a few times. He asked to use it on prom night to pick up his date and go to dinner. From there, the group boards a party bus to the dance and we'll go and bring the GT home. Am I excited or nervous?
Wish my Dad had owneda vette or stang back in the day. I think I was in a station wagon or maybe an early Toyota sedan.

Lmao as if he wasn't worried enough about his son taking the car to prom as it is...but not gonna lie, when I was in HS, the girls were easier when you drove something nice, your literally setting up a baseball for your son on a Tee to slam a big Homerun lmao

I'm sure it will be fun, but you know how kids can be around their friends... Peer pressure can be a real b!tch somebody screaming "do a burnout" or teasing him into driving fast along traffic. Texting while driving the list goes on all in all tattoo in his head to be smart please...

If I had a chance to take a 5.0 to the prom I would have let my date out at the door and drove the car around for the entirety of the night haha. It's the best birth control.

I have my Prom this weekend and could either drive our Corvette or my Mustang... decided to take a limo with a bunch of friends and our dates.

I wish it was that easy at my school. The girls here don't seem to care that I have a mustang, let alone a Bullitt.

Seriously tho. Ok sure you raised him right. To have respect for your things and others. Hand him the keys proudly. Just tell him one thing from all of us. NOT IN THE CAR! Lol

Just happy he has a date

He will drive about 2 miles to her house and 8 to the restaurant. I think I'm okay. Then they all board a party bus to the prom and we'll go pick up the 5.0.If he did christen the back seat, I'd be amazed and think of an old song (can u guess?). Seats come out soon for an audio system, anyway

There's no way I could do that. I can barely get my legs in and out if my front seat now. Tall problems.

I was able to use the backseat of my fox body extensively in HS lol Bit cramped being 6'1'' but I remember having to sit in the back a few years ago trying to figure out a squeak and thinking to myself "how in the hell did I make this work?!"

Turn on My Key and put a 12 pack of condoms in the console. If he is like his dad, he will return 11 but more importantly, no scratches on the car.

Yeah I'm 6'3" and like I said I have problems in the front seat getting my legs under the steering wheel. Never been in the back of my car before. I don't see me long *** getting back there.

In my '80 mustang, we'd have to pull both front seats forward and she'd pretty much be straddling the back of the center console while I gave it a go.

Lmao! We have officially hijacked his thread along with giving him many horrible mental images. (No charge for those sir).

Yes, I was a little upset over the seat but lookin back, it gave it definite swag. No low pants needed for that swagga.

Now that's too freaky for the backseat. That's hotel material right there.

Haha yeah we have.. But it's the history of the car.. I mean over 49 years someone somewhere decided that the back seat of the mustang on prom night was a good idea

Sorry OP we got some dirty minds, but I bet your son had/will have a good time either way.

Times have changed.. They are too secure now. I mean the teachers and all. You can't go out to your car unless they follow you or something.
