When I was 5 or 6 my dad bought me a 1949 Chevy truck and completely remodeled, but then sold it in about 2007/2008 when he sold his car shop and we wanted to move out of state. Unfortunately, the person my dad sold it to gave it to his wife to drive and she ended up totaling in the first week because it had too much horsepower and she tried to show off.

But, the first car of mine that I've actually driven is my 2008 Mustang V6.

My first car I owned was a 85 Nissan 300zx, however, the first car I drove on was a 96 dodge neon. It was a gift, I wrecked it within two months then had to go fetch my 300zx which was in another city at my dads.

Hi, thanks. But different time period. i was 18, and just join the Marine Corp.the car was 5 years old when, i got it.got shipped off to Nam. So, while i was gone, had the work done. 12 sec car, even with me driving it.And best of all street legal. Down side, cars during those days got what we now call terrible gas mileage.about 5-10 mpg. But gasoline was only .25 per gallon.LOL

Mine? 1997 Ford Mustang V6 Forest Green. It had silver rocker panel stripes, and a single flowmaster muffler. (And purple neon lights under car). And 127,000 miles.

Sister flipped it over and totaled it, but I still have my sister.

1987 Ford Bronco weird custom paint with royal blue and a checkered flag running down the side. 150,000 miles 5.0 4x4 automatic. 2 inch lift 33/12.50/15 buckshots on bullet hole rims. Alpine CD player with Panasonic speakers one bad *** u.s amp and a Treo engineering 12 inch subwoofer. It was nice especially with the top off.

My first car, which I got 2 years ago is a 2004 mazda 6i. Just a gas saver, nice looking car all around. For some reason I get pulled over a lot in it. Both speeding tickets were in that. Shes currently sitting, spun a bearing while my sister was driving her. Those engines ain't cheap either haha

Mazda's are nice little cars. A buddy of mine had an rx8 but kept needing her to be fixed for stuff.
Not worth the $ for the little power

Exactly the predicament I'm in. I've been plauged with problems with that car since I practically bought it. Bad coils, plugs, replaced axle after 7 months, all the good stuff. The only power it could put out was my system. 1000watt crunch amp hooked up to 2 12s, then cut the bose amp on to power it more. Ended up frying my alternator one day. That was a pain in the arse to replace!

And I still have a year left on payments >_>

There is a big difference between the first car you drove and the first car that you owned as your own That feeling is entirely different........the ownership you take on when driving the car that you have blood/sweat/tear/$$ invested in makes you appreciate it alot more!!

Thanks for sharing your stories!

Lol i know im terrible. Well i had gotten a 90 gt then gas prices went thru the roof so i needed a fuel efficient car cause i moved out at 18. So i get an 04 jetta and that thing was the biggest POS ever! sold it and bought my current 98 gt. The fourth was a surprising gift, my grandparents call me up and say "hey we're getting a new car, want our taurus?" (98 dohc) and thats what my wife drives now

My father had a burgundy in color, 1984 Nissan 300 zx. Man, was that a fun car. Did I ever love those T Tops. Lol

My first car was a two door,1983 silver in color with navy blue top Oldsmobile Cutlass. Bucket seats and gear shifter on the floor.

Nice thread Joseph. My first car was a 1968 Toyota Corona. I bought it for $50. and drove it home 200 miles that day. It was also (that same car) my first ever paid mechanic job a couple of years earlier. Yeah. I probably won't be hunting it down and restoring it any time soon but I do have some fond memories of that car. It was the vehicle that got me started in life. My first real job, social life, etc. Looking back, it wasn't much of a car but I sure as hell appreciated it and it was all MINE! I kept it for less than a year and moved on to bigger and better. Don't ya know. Funny how, later on in life, we sometimes take the simple stuff for granted...

1987 Nissan sentra 4 cyl 5 speed. No power steering, no air. 4 doors. No tape deck, no CD player. I'd love to still own it.
