64' Impala SS or 66' El Camino SS?

I'm thinking of coming to America to get a project car in about a year or so and wondered what to get. I was thinking of maybe a 64 Impala SS or a 66' El Camino SS. My budget might stretch to be able to afford to do up a late sixties mustang but I'm not sure.

What do you guys think is the right choice here?

Thanks,
MustangMan1234

sorry I'm not entirely familiar with chevy...but does the 64 impala still have the 3 round tail lights on the back? If so that's a what I would get, beautiful car! If your budget allows I think a 69-70 mustang would be my first pick, mustangs are definitely the easiest to find parts for.

Yeah, the 64' Impala is the 3 round tail lights. I would love to do a 69/70 Mustang. I can't seem to find any cheap ones though. If you know anywhere I can look for a cheap one (A project around about $2500) that would be brilliant! I have looked extensively for one and to no avail!!

i know they arnt practical but i think the el caminos look pretty sweet. as far as this thread goes, id say look for a 68 mustang fastback. although the 69-70 will probably be exponentially easier to find. what are you trying to build? like a restored classic? resto mod? drag/track car?
personally i think the 2nd generation chevell is one of the sexiest muscle cars ever(behind the mustang of course haha). my vote on the original 2 would be the 64 impala but in my opinion you cannot go wrong with either. comes down to personal preference to me. just think 'when you go out to your garage, which one would make you stop and just stare at it for a second' haha. im just excited to see the build
