Full Synthetic Oil changes

2013 boss mustang 302
Motor craft 5w50

How often would you change the oil running that type. The dealer would have me change it every 3000 like it was regular oil.

If it can be done at higher numbers where could a person find the information or the people to contact to get documentation to show the dealer that It can be higher and not void any kind of warranty?

I was told it was a good idea to change the oul regardless every six months to avoid condensation in the engine does that sound right?

Somewhere in your manual it will tell you the recommended oil change interval. The dealer tells you 3k because they want your money (unless you get a bunch of free changes).

What does your owner's manual say? Mine says every 7,500 but I do it at 5,000. As for condensation, it depends where you live. No worries in Arizona but Chicago would be a different story.

Live in Virginia in the foothills of some mountains. Far from the coast.

The combination of cold weather and humidity is the condensation monster. You'll have to make the call.

It had its first oil change at six months. It gets low mileage put on it so far. Ill get the manual Out and check it. Also it has an oil life meter.

Very hard oil to find anyways.
No local stores carry it.
Guess I can just get it online when if the time comes. Thanks guys.

Low mileage? Is it a full time race car? The blended oils available almost anywhere (including the dealer) far exceed the requirements of engine lubrication, regardless of how tough. Full synthetics in my view are a sales gimmick. My boss, who is a maintenance fanatic and drives a 12-year old high revving rice burner with almost 300K miles, pays to have his oil analyzed after every change to check for engine wear. He is a firm believer in the standard off the shelf stuff just like recommended in the owner's manual. Just saying.
