Haha .. you just have to look at them from the correct angle (4th gen that is). Then they aren't so bad. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Mustang. Then I will put a cover over my slomaro, that is until I feel like going fast.. lol

I thought the 4th gen looked good until 98 when they put that ugly gaping grill on it. Reminds me of an old man with no teeth and down syndrome smiling. Worst refresh I can remember. Still had a strong motor though, but I could never get past that grill. Its pretty revolting. IMO of course

No worries, I am well aware of where I am posting. I own a slomaro and a new stang. Figured I would take the troll bait and stir the pot a little.

Ya, the gap is rather large. Reminds me of a nice looking woman until she smiles and has a huge gap between her front teeth.

The 93 Talon TSi specs -
7 bolt engine
16G Evo III turbo
Hallman Pro Boost Controller (set at 17 PSI)
272 cams
Evo 8 Pistons/Rods
Evo 8 Injectors 560cc
Red Poly Engine Mounts
2g MAF
DSMLink Lite
A/C removed
P/S removed
2 1/2 Exhaust with Apexi N1 muffler. Universal glasspack as well to quiet it down some.
AEM UEGO Wideband

The TSI is currently down after I let a friend drive it and he blew the engine at 150 Mph and kept down shifting the car trying to figure out why it had lost power. That engine was the original 7 bolt that came in the car. I got tired of running the stock 7.8:1 compression and installed some EVO 8 pistons and rods and the 272 cams and apparently didn't have the tune correct for extended WOT. Looking through the logs in DSM Link, the air fuel ratio had reached 17.3:1 in 4th and 5th gear. So the car leaned out big time (should have been around 12.3), the pistons swelled and basically from the constant downshifting from 150, bent the rods and ruined the block. So now I have a 6 bolt block, Eagle rods, 9:1 Mahle pistons and knife-edged crank. I built the engine to take 800awhp with my goal at the time of 400 awhp on low boost with a larger turbo and 500 awhp on high boost with maybe 550 - 600awhp on full kill mode if I switched to E85.

Nice how does the awd system hold up to that much hp

Holds up just fine. The biggest issue is usually how well the rear diff holds up. I have the 4 bolt (best) and it alone can hold over 400whp with no issues. Other than that, the next weakest part is the transfer case. You never really know when those will go until they do. That said, there are a lot of 1g DSMs running 9's on stock drive shafts, and axles. The AWD system was built very robustly.

I think the red polly mounts could add up to 117hp to the 4.6 2v's. Everyone knows they need it.
