DIY painting

Is there anyone here that knows a decent amount of knowledge about auto painting? It has been something I have been wanting to try and have a body kit to experiment on so any and all tips are.welcome!

Step 1. Get a paint brush
Step 2. Find pigeon poo
Step 3. Find a patsy to paint it for you
Step 4. Go on a mississippi river adventure!

As car as my entire car goes... No. I did take off my spoiler and sanded it down and painted it outside with black paint from autozone. I didnt do too bad I'd say so myself.
