Not bad, Chevy, not bad

I've never owned (and don't plan on owning) a GM, but they did good with the new Z/28.

It's still a tank ... but a very fast, great handling tank.

Haha, yeah

But the Z/28 is only 3800 pounds (yes, I know, still almost 200 pounds more than the GT), but being under 2 tons I think takes it out of tank territory

They got the weight down and it's no longer in Challenger territory on the scales but the visibility is like being inside a tank.

I am 6'3 and can't see out the damn things either. The front windshield is maybe a foot tall, the rear window is 100% useless, the side mirrors only show you the rear fenders. It's literally like being inside a pillbox.

One of my friends ordered his a year before they went on sale, we went and picked it up, the first thing he said was "So this is what being blind feels like."

Damn chevy's coming out with some monsters lately.

Sorry to say it but Ford's becoming almost a one trick pony. Even the newest Super Snake is just all about power. Brakes faded after two 1/4 mile runs on Motortrend.

The Boss rocked at first but now chevy's come out with editions of the camaro that does exceedingly well on the track.

Plus how bad *** the C7 looks... While all indication shows that the new Stang will be looking like a Fusion wannabe Aston Martin Vantage.

Is ok tho... I still love my 5.0.

The driver of that z28 was really good! He was driving like he could care less about wrecking and dying!

The new z28 is slower than the ZL1 0-60 and at the track. Which is a shame. Looks bad *** though. A full bolton 5.0 will beat a zl1 on the street. They loom so dam good though

I think Chevy will have the fastest production "muscle car." I put that in parentheses because a muscle car shouldn't be 70k. Also they will have the fastest because Ford is working on the new generation mustang and it will probably be a year or so before any high performance versions come out.

GT500 is around $60k and the Super Snake is what $80-90k. They're muscle cars...

Neither of those cars are really made for straight line speed. They truly excel in braking and cornering. As a complete package, they are the best "muscle cars" out there.

Also, the Z28 and ZL1 are both a bit underwhelming stock. They both however respond to basic mods extremely well.

I think the new Z/28 is great...wow. I love it. It's just not my style...now the 2014 Stingray...is just out of this world...If I had the money I would buy one right now. That styling is superb. Amazing.

Yes, but they are not "factory" and are more of an aftermarket company. I view Shelby more as a Hennessey or Lingenfelter brand, not like SRT, AMG, or the M series.

GT500 is absolutely a factory mustang made by Ford in Ford assembly plants, by Ford workers, sold on Ford lots. It's really only a Shelby in name

The Shelby is made on a production line... But i do believe the engine is still hand made. Hell, even the GTR is made 100% on a production line.

Side mirror adjustment

I like the new vette, my neighbor just bought a 14 SS. To see out of one you must adjust your seat till your arms are almost straight, then tilt your head left & right as someone walks up to the car so you can adjust the mirrors properly. This should be done with any car to properly adjust side mirrors.

Technically yes, but no one uses that term except for the ones by SVT

Yes and no. I was being a bit dramatic, but even still I've never seen a base Shelby on a lot around me before. They always come loaded for $65000. Track pack and nav. Nearly double the price of a GT.

My favorite part in the article:

Z28's lap time: 7:37.47
ZR1's lap time: 7:19:63

"...and came close to the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1."

Only in Chevy's world is 18 seconds close lol

I would imagine the level of power will be determined by what GM does in the future with the Camaro 's power. If GM gives a Camaro SS 500 HP then Ford will follow suit.

I would personally like to see Ford not necessarily increase the power but give the motor better parts for people who want to mod the car. Ford knows the mustang is one of the world's most modded cars so why not put forged pistons, forged rods and forged crankshaft into the 5.0. It can't cost Ford that much more to put these parts in when there assembling the motor from scratch. At least with those forged parts it would make the engine handle more power for people who want to mod there car. Also I can't believe that Ford couldn't make a fully forged 5.0 engine like the 03/04 engine was fully forged.
