15 gt or cobra

I was wondering what would be the best choice ... Wait to get a 2015 mustang gt or a 10-14 cobra

I'd still say 13-14 gt500. There's no way the gt will come out with with anything close to 650hp. Conservative estimates suggests it may end up having approximately 450 hp. Don't quote me on that, but that seems more realistic. Either way you can't go wrong.

I would wait for the 2015 and see if you like the body design. As far as "catching up" with the previous GT500's...supercharger for the '15 and then you will be miles of ahead of the '10-14's with all the advancements that the '15 has.

15s have just two trump cards on the current gen as far as I know:

1.) IRS
2.) An impossible and highly unlikely 400lb savings which means 3200lbs... Lol I wish

Current Shelby GT500 has far more advancements cumulatively than 15 GT least of which isn't a Tremec transmission, forged internals, and 662HP to boot. And... It'll retain value much better and you will probably get more respect and thumbs ups.

13 gt500 is not fully forged. Only one that actually ever was is the 03/04 cobra. Just like the boss. It has powdered forged rods. The Walmart of forged.

Depending on who you ask and what you want out of your mustang, many would say IRS is not a trump card. In fact many believe the mustang should stay a live rear axle vehicle. Just depends on who you ask and their perspective. Even a 400 pound lighter, 450 hp vehicle will not match a 662 HP Gt500.

Go for the Shelby 2014 Gt500 because it will be the last of its kind.

Yes the 13gt500 and boss. Both use powdered forged rods. Which is a bandaid.

Never understood these decisions. Cheaper I guess but if given the option to pay an extra grand or so for forged I'd pay it. Or whatever. Better than having to swap it out later.

Yes thats all it is, its cheaper for ford. The 03/04 cobra is only one that was truely forged.

That's a hard choice... I agree you're better off waiting for the 2015 to be released, so you can truly weight the options.

That being said, I think I'd rather have a 2014 GT500. Only because those cars are true beasts and will still be considered street warriors after the 2015 Mustang is released. In my eyes, the 2014 GT500 is an icon!

Pft they better call it SVT Cobra. We over killed the shelby car names. Let's bring back the terminator. We can even call it the terminator II. Even better than the first.
