Honda

So I picked up this Civic in the condition that you see in the first three pics. Paid $500 for it as is. Turbo kit and piece parts were backyard special to say the least. Solid 1/8 NPT thread to 1/4 barb fitting used to feed the turbo oil with the same heading into the turbo. Thin walled vacuum style hose making up this oil feed line as you can see in pic. Aftermarket fuel regulator just dangling in the motor bay, injectors out of a turbo dsm not wired properly and without inline resistors, idle air control valve wasn't even wired, dohc vtec ecm on a sohc non vtec car. As you can see it was a basket case.

So I started to tear down and see how bad things were underneath. Everything looked good, figured id toss a new timing belt and component kit on it, head gasket as well as the water pump. Clean the block and head up, check for straightness the usual. Figured id get rid of the china bay backyard special turbo kit and components. Return it to more or less stock.

After all the parts and stuff how much did you end up spending going back to stock(and pretty much rebuilding the motor)?

Traded turbo junk for lots of stock parts off local tuners. Everything I pretty much needed I traded for. So far I have just under a grand should be right around $1300 said and done with brakes and new fluids ect. Motor has under 120k. Hope to trade in on craigslist or sell once I'm done.

Thanks, don't know if I'm keeping it or flipping it for a quick buck.

Just hit the boneyard yesterday and grabbed a TB. She will be running today. Just have to bleed out the brakes and a few other little interior bits popped back into place.
