Best Exhaust for my car

I have a 2014 Mustang GT and I am gonna be doing the exhaust pretty soon. The exhaust I want is the one that gives mustangs that distinctive sound...like without even seeing the car you hear it go by and you know it's a mustang...? I'm torn between Borla Atak and Roush. Which would be the better axle back for both sound and performance?

A buddy of mine has corsa exhaust and it sounds amazing. No annoying drone either! The borlas I hear have bad drone. And the corsa gets really loud once you open it up.

Thanks for the heads up...hahaha...now I'm torn between Corsa and Borla. The Corsa has a great tone, but I like the volume of the Borla Atak. Which to choose...I know it's all subjective, but I wanna make sure before I drop 500 bucks either way.

If you get the corsa (depending where you live) you can take the cats off and get it louder. Just do some research and see what's best for you! We had borla on one of our mustangs (it was a 4.6 though) and the drone was so terrible

For me it wasn't even a choice, Borla ATAKs!! I get compliments wherever I go. Loud when you want it to be, and subdue on the highway. Zero drone at any speed or RPM.

Do you still have the cats? And I don't know much with the 5.0. But I know when my dad has his gt the borla was just annoying on the highway. I don't mind a slight drone but it got hard to talk to each other. Haha

Best Exhaust for my car

I just got the RTR exhaust a bit over a week ago for my 2013 GT, it's a bit pricey, but good. Deep rumble through about 4k RPM's, loud when you give it some gas, and a great sound on a cold start up... Such as 10 degrees this morningđŸ˜¨. Some slight drone, but not much at all.

I have the Kooks/Steeda axlebacks on my 11 GT and they sound great. Might want to add them to your list too. Picked them up in like new condition on eBay for half the price of new. Zero drone and they wake up when necessary.

I've heard the Borla or Corsa axlebacks in person and you can't go wrong with either one. The Roush I wasn't too crazy about.

I put to exhaust on my 2014 GT

The Flowmaster outlaw exhaust sounds like a race car. Which by the way I am selling for $300+shipping. I am located in CA

The second set was the Roush axle back system and it is also loud but can be quiet if you keep the RPM's below 3k

I've had borlas type for a year now. There is no drone at any rpm. Love the sound. Definitely turns heads.

Defenitely borla !
I would say go with borla S-type
The sounds is amazing ive heard a few 5.0s with it and they sound great
Specially the borla s type catback
It gives it a deeper and more settled yet loud tone
I recommend you go to car meets and hear different mustangs and decide which one you like the most. Because these new 5.0s literally sound good with anything ! Goodluck bud

I am in the same boat. Everytime I go to hit the "buy" button, I start going back to youtube and listening again. There are so many out there. It used to be flowmaster was about it and now I don't like the flowmaster on the 5.0. I want the axle back and am leaning toward the roush or the borla s.

Borla all the way but mind you that it is double the price of the roush.

Borlas - $750~$850
Roush - $500

Best Exhaust for my car

Sadly... These questions are somewhat fruitless (which oil... Which wax).

Everyone who buys one will defend it to the death in most cases because they spent money on them.

Very few admit a mistake and change (drone or too loud/soft).

Online videos are too difficult to compare different exhausts.

Your best bet is to find a local get together (cars and coffee), ask to listen to other mustangs at startup, idle, revving, and possibly sitting in the car under normal, aggressive, and WOT.

Outside of that, more expensive (Corsa, Borla, etc) have min - zero drone and are more refined. Mid price ones are (generally) louder and prone to drone.

Some have different appearance (Corsa vs Borla).

Other factors will affect how an axle back sounds (cats factory or removed), long vs short headers if factory exhaust manifold replaced, x vs h pipe...etc.

Good luck.
