Porting and polishing

Hey! I've got a 07 mustang and I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend that tunes Hondas and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.

Um I don't think that was a bright idea. Porting and polishing usually means taking the intake/heads off and grabbing a dremel and grinding it by hand... not filling the combustion chamber with sand and trying to blow the motor.

I hope to god this is just a troll thread since you mentioned a Honda friend did it with you

Yeah... Port and polish is with tools and heads off the car. And also a bench flow test is typically used to check work.

I hope to god this is a troll because I really like your car. You really can't be that dumb.

Let me put it this way, the way dealers did Cash for Clunkers is they would drain the oil and fill the combustion chambers with sand and then run the engine until it blows

Probably not because now that the sand bored out my motor to a 5.8 I'm good to go. Probably a stroker now too!

But according to the Honda guy it wouldn't be worth it because he doesn't have the sand treatment
