Stages...

Heard of 'stages' in the past, and saw a 'stage 2' mustang today (knew by the faux gas cap on the back that said stage II on it), so being curious, I asked the driver what it meant... He had no idea, and made up some really dumb **** that, me being a car enthusiast, made absolutely no mechanical sense to me at all...

So, my question, what makes a car a different stage or whatever...? Google has failed, just linked me to a bunch of tuner crap and people trolling forums. Hopefully I'll have better luck here. Thanks.

If your talking about mods that you do to your stang then no there really isn't a way to make your car a different stage. You can purchase roush performance parts to make it look and perform like one. But it will still be a regular mustang. If it wasn't a roush then not sure what it could have been. Maybe he took the badge off or it was a regular mustang with a roush body kit and some of it's badges. What did the driver say when you asked him about it?

The Roushes are the only ones I can remember that do "stages". If it has a stage X emblem on it or such and it's not a Roush then it's just the owner trying to make it look cool.

That's what I'm thinking, especially if I'm not mistaken puma is from Europe and that car must be very rare over there.

I think:

Stage 1= body kit

Stage 2=body kit/suspension

Stage 3=body kit/suspension/blower

He just said generic things like suspension upgrade, when asked, couldn't tell me parts, then said it was twin turbo'd, but definitely didn't sound like F/I, just dumb stuff... And yes, Mustangs in general are very rare here.
