It could definitely be done, but it's up to the seller to really "bullet proof" the packaging. The amount of cloth, bubble wrap, and foam would need to be excessive. The seller can also make sure the box has fragile all over it and arrows to show right side up. If that is possible for the seller to do, than you could ship it without too much worries.

This is the same reason we don't offer pre-painted hoods. The packaging would have to be too extensive to issue a clean shipment. It's not practical for a vendor, but can be done for a private seller much easier.

I wish you the best of luck!

Shane

I wouldn't trust the seller to package it properly or UPS to safely deliver it. If you really want it,go get it.

Go get it. And put it on when you pick it up. Then you will really enjoy the drive back.

Should you decide to have it shipped, use PayPal, as you can always file a dispute with them if the goods arrive damaged. You want to be sure that you are at the location of where the package will be delivered, and open it in front of the deliverer; don't let he/she "drop it off and run" as they like to do.

I would agree with everyone else though. If you want to verify it's pristene when you get it, go after it yourself!

Purchase insurance make them pay if it is broken. You will need to open ASAP in front of driver. Take no chances.

Or you could do that haha. 32hrs is a hell of a drive! I hope you're getting it for a killer price. Gas alone will make that a costly trip.

I wish you the best of luck regardless!

Amount of gas spent for 32 hours in a box truck is moronic. Dude could likely find one local and have it painted for the same price unless he's getting it for a few $hundred and even then... Figure 17-19mpg in that truck at BEST over 32 hours he is filling up at the cost of $90 every 5 hours he is going to spend $500-$600 in fuel alone not to mention a hotel and food. Unless he just sleeps in the back at a rest stop... eff that.

And what happens if there is a big paint chip in it the guy didn't show you in the pics when you get there or some other defect? You aren't getting that gas money back. Have it packed in a box, palletized and have a freight carrier deliver it. No, I would not trust UPS to ship anything heavy or fragile.

Well how much are you paying for it may I ask? And is it the right shade of paint and is it mint and a minivan getting 22mpg is still going to be a $300-$500 gas bill for a 32 hour round trip... I hope you are getting the deal of a lifetime on this and even still I doubt your gas bill is going to be less than what it would have cost for someone like R+L Carriers to ship it on a pallet. I paid $160 for them to ship a transmission and it arrived perfect on a pallet right to my door.

There ARE other options besides UPS/FedEx/USPS to ship stuff like I mentioned in a previous post...
