http://kinja.roadandtrack.com/the-20...8813/+ballaban

Sorry fellas. Really confused and don't understand what the point of this is and why would someone want Ford to put some feature in that will void the warranty. ???? I'm lost on this one. Please help me understand!

Totally agree bro but why would Ford produce a feature in their car that would purposely void their warranty. That doesn't make sense. That's just plain freaking stupid. Its one thing for Ford to void the warranty for an aftermarket part but they void the warranty for a feature Ford puts in the car. Wtf Ford!

What does it even do and what is the point to it?

What it does is lock your front brakes so u can do mean burnouts fairly easy!
I honestly don't think it'll be that easy for ford to just say oh u used it ur warranty is now voided but it might have a disclaimer that's off road use only like the track apps.

Got ya! Sounds great to do a burn out but crazy that Ford would manufacture something that would void or possibly void the warranty after using an application that the manufacture (Ford) installs. Screwy bro. Lol! How about F line lock and just don't make it. Do burn outs the old fashion way. My 2011 doesn't have line lock and I can roast the ball snot out of my tires.

Yea it's just a cool feature like launch control! But yea it would be stupid if it voids warranty!

Hey everybody. I'm gonna produce a car feature that provides better traction for wet or slippery road conditions but if it breaks , your warranty will be voided. Ha ha ha!

Oh my goodness. The idea that using line lock will void the warranty is total speculation at this point! I don't know why people (car journalists) can't just be happy that Ford is making this cool feature! They had to crap on everyone's parade by making up some story about how it *might* void the warranty. Probably not, I say. Using track apps doesn't void the warranty does it? Nope! And since you are only supposed to use track apps on the track, Ford can safely assume that you are racing if you use track apps. But your warranty is safe, I'd bet my left testicle this is going to be the same.
