Support bars for trunk?

I have a 2002 mustang gt I bought not to long ago and in the trunk there's a block of aluminum that's been bolted down towards the front of the trunk that has 8 different slots machined out and I was told that you can buy bars to put in there to keep the body from flexing around corners, didn't know if the guy I bought it from was blowing smoke and just making that up or if it was a legit deal? And if what he told me is true where can I get the bars?

I have a feeling it's along the same lines as that but mine has an 8 inch bar of aluminum in it with machined out holes, I don't know if those are just like a lock system or what. Cause I see on yours it has a top and bottom bar. What's it called?

Judging from the picture, yours is different from FullyAuto's in the respect that you won't have one bar going all the way across. It will be 2 bars. One end of each bar will connect to its respective shock tower, the other end will bolt to that block. The block has 3 positions for each brace, hence why you have 6 holes total. I'll see if I can find a photo for reference.

Sent from the future.

Thanks man, I couldn't find the 2 bar set up all I could find is the single bar that runs all the way across from tower to tower that's why I figured I'd ask in case that's not what it was for, another question I have is what would be the difference between the three different brace points?

I've never seen anything like that before. That seems like it would be for an adjustable strut tower brace of some sort but it's placement makes no sense

Yeah. I get the feeling it's custom fabricated. That would mean that finding braces to go with it will be near impossible.
