All they are doing is changing the keys from a switchblade type key to a seperate key and fob.

After what happened on the cobalt and other cars, I think GM is getting paranoid about this.

GM is running scared. They are trying to cover their butt after being accused of ignoring the ignition switch problems so now they will recall EVERYTHING.

No surprise the Government Motors is experiencing this. They've been cutting corners and failing to advance technology for years.

IMO - they should've been taken out back and put down in 2008-9.

I hope we don't bail them out again, but I'm sure we will. I can guarantee I will never own a GM product, I see them going downhill from here. But if we don't bail them out that's a ton of jobs lost, and probably more idiots buying mustangs

Why should GM improve? Unlike Ford who streamlined operations and made necessary improvements GM kept everything the same. The Silverado had a 4 speed auto trans for God's sake. GM is like the American version of the East German Trabant.

How many times have I seen people complain about needing recalls for Mustang AC systems? Maybe GM is actually trying to take care of their customers instead of designing systems to fail at 40K-60K miles, right after the 36K warranty runs out.

The things that GM has been recalling have been causing deaths though. Not just a faulty AC system!

Recalls are for safety issues. If you hate your AC unit went out after warrantee. Then maybe a bad ignition switch is better for you. 13 people have died because of Chevy's. incompetence. Beside I do not think Ford can install Gremlins to make your AC unit go out right after warrantee.

They did not need to try to cover up the problem

At least Ford did not try to cover up a problem. They called people in to get it repaired.

Toyota and GM have a problem admitting they have one.
