Oil on carpet

So I had a quart of oil in the back that was halfway full. Well the back passenger must have stepped on it and it spilled all over the carpet...... what can I do to get rid of the stain or is anything bad going to happen

It depends on how bad you hurt the passenger for spilling the oil.

Just a bad accident

I really don't know what to do in your situation other then replacing the carpet. The good thing is that it happened in the rear and not the passenger area. If it happened up front there was a good chance of destroying a computer. Nothing in the rear to destroy except the carpet.
The big problem with oil is it just never goes away without a lot of scrubbing and when you do that your carpet will fade and look like crap.

Oh ok yeah my carpet is black and it doesn't smell like oil but maybe because I dried it as good as I could right away

Good thing your carpet is black! Try dish soap, water, and the cleaning wand in a Bissel. I used to have one of those Bissel little green clean machines. Used the hell out of it and wore it out cleaning cars. I need to get another one.

If you have access to something like a Bissel, once you scrub it down with soap and water, just use straight hot water in it and douse it down heavy with water and suck it up repeatedly. You'll never get all of it, but it will come out pretty clean anyway.

Before replacing the carpet, I'd go to an auto detailing place and have them proffesionally clean the carpet. I have one for my house (carpet cleaner), and the attachment I have for automotive carpet/apolstry works great. I have used it countless times on my F150 and current Ford Ranger, both with light gray seats and carpet, and it has lifted some tough stains making them look new.

For about what you'd pay for a good detailing, I'm sure you could get one of this little Bissell ' s for the same price.
