Go to a local motorcycle shop and pick up the cheapest Snell rated helmet that fits. They will likely be around $30 - $50.

Or provide more information on where you are at and what track you will be running and when. Then maybe someone close to you might be able to meet you at the track and let you borrow their helmet.

Not gonna find a Snell M2010 for that price. Some tracks don't even check that stuff, maybe you'll get lucky. Our tracks here do check it..

If you are going to be using it a lot get a nice one. I'll probably be picking up a SA2010 rated helmet near the end of summer.

I heard the 2005 rating wasn't going to pass for too much longer that's why I'm not buying one.

Milan will check the helmet date and rating.

And a 2005 will only be valid through next year (2015); 10 years I believe is the rule anyway.

Snell ratings are good for 12 years. They are not re-certifiable either.

So, a Snell 2005 rated helmet expires in 2017. Even if the helmet is only a year old.

Our track here, Thunder Valley already requires SNELL2010. They refuse to let you race past 13.99 without one.

That is unless you catch the rare reeeeally lazy tech guy on test and tune nights.

If they are an NHRA track, I would turn them in. They have to let any 2005 rated Snell helmet compete.

Found here - http://www.nhra.com/userfiles/file/2...ook_120413.pdf - Section 4A, page 8
