Pennzoil Platinum $10 rebate and on sale at Wal Mart

Just at Wally Word picking up motor oil when I noticed this oil was on sale, 5 quart bottles for $22.66. This is that new Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Fully Synthetic oil made from natural gas. On top of Wal Mart reducing the price to $ 22.66 for 5 quart bottle the manufacturer is offering a $10 mail in rebate when you purchase 5 or more quarts.

I'm not starting this thread to have another oil debate thread because we have plenty of them just providing information about this sale for people who either already use this oil or thinking of trying this oil.

I believe this is a new forumula that Pennzoil is using and not sure how this one rates compared to the other synthetic oils but figured I give it a try since it was on sale plus the rebate.

On a side note, just curious but does anyone know if this new formula is considered a base III or base IV synthetic oil.

Nice find Kona! I usually use Amsoil in all my vehicles but for the price I'm willing to give it go. Thanks for posting.

Glad I could help bro. I actually wasn't looking for that brand oil and walked by it at first. Not that its not good motor oil and knocking on it. After walking back and forth down the motor oil isle I noticed this red reduced, roll back tag on that new Pennzoil Fully synthetic oil.

I recall some threads a while back when this new formula first came out and people gave it some good reviews but I don't think at the time anyone knew if this new formula was a base III or IV synthetic oil. Either way, I thought for the price it was a decent deal.

There was one of those little stickey folded papers attached to the 5 gallon bottle. You peel it off, unfold it, fill out that little form so too speak and mail it back to Pennzoil with your purchase receipt.
